Mahonia aqifolium

a.k.a.: Oregon grape


Environment:   Dry shade
Type:   evergreen shrub
Size:   3' tall by 5' wide at maturity
Flowering:   dense clusters of yellow flowers in early spring.
Berries:   clusters of dark bluish-black berries resembling (but not truly) grapes


Several of these were planted in the side lot in the spring of 2014.
Though these are considered invasive and are dry shade plants, only a couple have survived.
